Our Premium Rug Cleaning Process

    Rug Inspection

    The first step in our process is a thorough rug inspection. We examine the entire rug—fringe, main body, and edges—checking for tears, holes, missing yarns, damaged fringe, pet contamination, insect damage, and dye instability.

    We personally test every color to ensure dye stability before cleaning. Any issues found are discussed with our clients before proceeding.

    Rug Duster

    Soil removal is the next step—eliminating dirt that ordinary vacuums can’t reach. Before cleaning, we use a specialized machine to vibrate the rug over a protective grid, loosening embedded dust and soil. This process ensures deep-set debris falls free before vacuuming, preventing dirt from being pushed deeper into the fibers. This crucial step protects the rug and enhances the cleaning process.

    Wash Process

    We carefully hand-wash rugs using special detergents approved by Wools of New Zealand and the Carpet and Rug Institute for safe, effective cleaning.

    The process begins with thoroughly wetting the rug front and back to loosen soil and neutralize odors. We then use a low-speed rug cleaner with specially formulated detergents designed for oriental rugs.

    Rinsing

    With all dry soil removed and wet extraction complete, it’s time for rinsing.

    Our indoor river system thoroughly flushes out soil, detergents, and pet urine by continuously rinsing with fresh waterwhile draining the dirty water away. The rug is flushed with cold water on both sides multiple times until it runs clear.

    Extraction

    One of the final steps is advanced water extraction to ensure fast drying.

    After washing, we remove as much moisture as possible, allowing your rug to dry within hours. This prevents mildew, dye bleeding, and rot, protecting its quality and longevity.

    Final Touches

    Our Oriental rug cleaning process includes fringe detailing and inspection.

    We groom the fibers, setting the nap in its original direction. Fringes are cleaned and brightened with safe detergents and non-chlorine bleach after drying.

    After 4-6 hours on drying racks, we inspect for missed spots, odors, dye bleed, and dry soil. Once approved, the rug is packaged, labeled, and prepared for delivery.
