Our Six-Step Cleaning Process
Inspection
Before anything else, we examine every inch of your rug. Fringe, body, and edges are checked for tears, holes, missing yarns, pet contamination, insect damage, and dye instability. Each color is individually tested. Any concerns are discussed with you before we start.
Dusting
A specialized rug duster gently vibrates your rug over a protective grid, loosening embedded dirt and fine particles that vacuums cannot reach. This critical pre-cleaning step prevents grit from being ground deeper during the wash.
Hand Washing
Every rug is hand-washed with solutions endorsed by Wools of New Zealand and the Carpet and Rug Institute. We fully saturate each rug to lift out soil and neutralize odors. A low-speed cleaning machine gently massages the fibers for a deep yet safe clean.
Rinsing
Using our indoor river system, we flush each rug with continuous streams of fresh cold water while draining away the dirty water. We repeat the rinse on both sides until the water runs completely clear. No soap, no residue left behind.
Water Extraction
High-powered extraction equipment removes as much moisture as possible. Rugs dry within hours instead of days, preventing mildew, dye bleeding, shrinkage, and rot.
Final Grooming & Quality Check
We smooth the pile back into its original direction, brighten the fringe with non-chlorine bleach, and re-inspect for any missed spots or odors. Only once it passes our standards is it packaged and prepared for delivery back to you.
